KWL e-payment Services Becoming the Popular Way of Paying for KWL Services

In April 2006 Kingston Wharves ran a pilot on the implementation of e-payment services.
By July 2006 the system was fully operational. There are now one hundred and eighty six (186) Kingston Wharves customers who have been assigned access to KWL e-pay.
Using a credit card, payment can be made online for the charges applied to storage, handling, wharfage, lift, stripping and stuffing as well as other charges for containers.
E-payment customers have the advantage of being treated as priority customers as it relates to the customs clearance procedures.
There has been on a monthly average thirty-two (32) recurring users of the system. However on a daily basis more customers are being added to the system and some customers have opted to have persons who already have access make payments on their behalf.
